Brief History:

Perpetual Help Mother Church in Coonoor, Mount Pleasant was built during the tenure of Archbishop Anthony Padiyara. The foundation stone was laid on October 25, 1959, with construction completed and the church consecrated on October 16, 1960. Initial funding came from estate owner T. V. Kochu Vareed and local community support. The parish serves approximately 270 families and 12 associations. The solemn feast is celebrated during the fourth week of May each year.
