Brief History:
Holy Refuge Mother Church at Kannampalayam has deep historical roots tracing to 1645-1650 when weaver families from Kodiveri relocated to Kannampalayam. The original church structure was built in 1803. The parish was elevated to independent status in 1935. A new church building was consecrated in 1990, and the current church was reconsecrated following recent construction in 2019. The parish serves approximately 280 families. Throughout its history the parish has produced eight priests and numerous religious sisters. The feast of the Holy Refuge Mother is celebrated on the last Sunday of October.
