Brief History:

St. Thomas Church at Thomaspuram, Avinashi was established in 1941 with the first baptisms recorded in 1942, beginning with 18 families. A dedicated priest acquired 1.5 acres of land on July 13, 1942, with diocesan support. The church was consecrated on June 6, 1943. Over eight decades the parish has developed educational facilities, medical services, and community infrastructure under successive pastoral leaders. The parish serves approximately 353 main parish families and 113 branch families in 13 and 6 faithful groups respectively. The feast of St. Thomas is celebrated during the second week of July.
