Brief History:

Settlement in Visvasapatti began around 1936, with Christian families relocating from surrounding villages like Kattamavu, Mallappatti, and Omallur. The first missionary, Fr. Fidalis (SDB), established a cross in the settlement that inspired the area’s name, meaning faith settlement. The parish was elevated to shared parish status in 1969 under the Salem Diocese. A new church building was consecrated in 1993. The Sisters of the Apostolic Racinni established a hospital (1986) and later developed Lourdes Mother Metric School (upgraded to secondary level in 2009). The church serves 200 families and the feast is celebrated on February 11.
