Parish Priest – Rev. Fr. S. Augustine Jacob.
Church Established – 1909.

Brief History:

The settlement originated from potters called Kosavar who practiced traditional pottery-making. Over time, the term Patti was added to denote the village location. Agricultural communities later settled in the area, drawn by water sources from nearby hills. In 1908, benefactors Louis Catherine and Louis Mary provided funding for church construction. They requested the church be named after Saint Gnanaprakasiar, their patron saint. Fr. Susainathan formally established the parish in 1909 and constructed the permanent stone church in 1912 with community support. The church serves 1,500+ families across 17 chapels and functions as a deanery sub-headquarters. The feast is celebrated on June 21 (Saturday and Sunday of that week).
