Brief History:

Christ the King Church, Mukhamatoor, has roots in a miraculous event approximately three centuries ago when a foreign missionary brought a crucifix to a community suffering from cholera, and when the residents gathered to pray, the disease miraculously ceased. The original church structure was established and consecrated in 1985 by the Kottar Diocese Bishop. The parish was administratively separated from Mulakumudi in 1996 as a mission station under Kozipporviliaye parish. A new church building was consecrated on November 11, 2014, featuring a replica Calvary Hill created by youth members. The parish serves approximately 160 families.
