Brief History:
Originally, this region was known as Mundavilakam. Mr. K. Michael Nadar, a devoted Christian from the area, desired a church for his community. In 1950, sisters from Mulakunnathu began missionary work and religious education. Nadar built a small chapel which evolved into a growing congregation. A permanent church was constructed in 1967 with Nadar personal funds and land, and was consecrated on May 10, 1970. The settlement was renamed Iruthayapuram after the church dedication, now serving 175 families.
