Brief History:

Saint Jude Thaddeus Shrine, Swamiyarmattam, was established by Father Jerome OCD in 1967 on one acre of land amid coconut groves and rice fields. The saint’s relic was brought from Mangalore in 1968 and the church was consecrated on October 6, 1968 by Bishop T.R. Anjisamy. The sanctuary became known for responding to prayers of the desperate and marginalised and today serves approximately 350 families. The feast of Saint Jude Thaddeus on October 28 and a ten-day celebration in late December are observed annually.
