Brief History:
St. Anthony’s Church, Balavilai, was established around 1870 under the guidance of Vengodu Sacred Heart Church. The community received baptism and Christian formation through rosary prayers and saint intercessions, and by 1900 missionary work expanded throughout the Kaliyakkavila region. The parish was elevated to independent status on May 14, 2010, and a new church structure was consecrated on December 28, 2016. The parish serves approximately 320 families.
