Brief History:

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Mailacode, was established in 1933 as a branch of Kalcurichi St. Xavier Church and became an independent parish in 1971. The original stone-walled, tiled-roof church was built through community efforts, and a new modern church building was constructed and dedicated in 2003. The parish serves approximately 700 families and operates a Carmel Sisters Convent, St. Michael Primary School, and Mother Teresa High School. The feast of St. Michael is celebrated over ten days around September 29.
