Brief History:

St. Anthony’s Church, Mullanganavile, has roots dating back approximately 300 years when a palm-thatched chapel first served the local faithful. The present brick church with tiled roof was constructed about 160 years ago, and a new building was commissioned in 1908 and formally consecrated on June 13, 1910. The parish attained independent status in 1936 and today serves approximately 1,200 families across 30 affiliated organizations. Branch churches include Immaculate Mother Church at Mangarai, St. Susai Church at Tharathattu, and Jesus Mary Sacred Heart Church at Nattalum.
