Brief History:

St. Anthony’s Church, Thikkarangodu, has roots in the ancient St. Thomas Christian tradition, with believers establishing a worship centre here following the Apostolic mission in the region. Church inscriptions note that Fr. Athanasius arrived from Europe in 505 AD and served as a missionary whose body was interred at this site. The present structure was consecrated on February 22, 2003 by Bishop Leon A. Dharmaraj. The parish serves approximately 120 families as a branch of Holy Ascension Mother Church, Mathravaile.
