Brief History:

St. Francis Xavier Church, Konangkadu, traces its roots to approximately 275 years ago when families from Konangkadu and Paranamuri village established a small chapel. In 1775, the Kumara Perumal family of Kulapadi formally converted to Catholicism and donated 150 cents of land plus an additional 35 cents planted with punna trees for church maintenance. The structure developed from a modest shrine into an arched building under Jesuit administration, becoming an independent parish in 1964 with the current building constructed in 1993. Six priests have been ordained from this parish.
