Brief History:
Holy Xavier Church, Xavierpur, traces its community roots to over a century ago when twenty-five families united under Xavier’s patronage and established a daily rosary prayer group. Fr. Suzie Marian conducted the first Mass on December 25, 1955. In 1968, Fr. Anthony Muthu acquired ten cents of donated land and a new church building was consecrated on December 19, 1977 by Bishop Arokia Samy. The parish celebrated its silver jubilee in 2002, and a roadside shrine and Lourdes chapel were subsequently added. It serves approximately 130 families as a branch of Holy Michael Archangel Church, Mailacode.
