Brief History:

The parish was established in 1950 by Jesuit priests in Santhaipettai to serve the Christian community. After a period of decline and temporary closure, it was reopened following a spiritual vision. The church was renovated in 1996 and received the Blessed Sacrament in 2000. The Amalvaai Sisters have contributed significantly to parish activities. The church serves 43 families as a branch of the Sorrowful Mother Basilica, Madurai, and celebrates its feast over 5 days in July.
