Brief History:

St. Jude Thaddeus Church at Elk Hill, Ooty was constructed in 1984 by Rev. Gresak Kunnat. The church became an independent parish in 1985, having separated from St. Mary’s Church, Udhagamandalam. The parish serves approximately 350 families and is located about 2 kilometers from the Ooty bus stand. Under Rev. Vincent’s tenure, the church was expanded and the altar was renovated in 2019-2020. The current priest replaced the roof in March 2022. The parish feast is celebrated during the first week of May.
