Brief History:

When a Catholic family settled in Panglakudiyirupu in 1944, they traveled to Karuthappilaiyur for spiritual needs. After sustained requests beginning in 1962, church officials approved establishing a chapel in 2012. Local residents donated 3.5 cents of land and the community and donors funded construction under guidance of Fr. Susai Selvraj. The church was consecrated on September 29, 2013 by the former Palayamkottai bishop. The church is a branch of St. Anthony’s Church, Karuthappilaiyur, serving 25 families. The feast is celebrated in October on the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
