Brief History:

The church holds the distinction of being the first church established in Palayamkottai Diocese in 1973. The foundation stone was laid by the then-Tenkasi parish priest Rev. M. S. Saleth. After construction completion, Bishop Iruthayaraj consecrated it on August 22, 1977. In 2010, the roof was upgraded from tile to concrete by parish priest Rev. M. Charles with community support, and Bishop A. Jude Paulraj re-consecrated it on February 20, 2011. The church serves 32 families and is a mission church under St. Anthony’s Parish, Pavaurchathram, serving four villages: Bethnadarpatti, Pottalore, Murugankorichi, and Maghizvannathapuram. The feast is celebrated in July.
