Parish Priest – Rev. Fr. Arul Antony Susai.
Church Established – 1892.

Brief History:

The church was established in 1892 when approximately 50 families from the Chervaka community simultaneously joined the Catholic faith. Fr. Joseph Ignatius founded a palm-leaf chapel that year. A substantial stone church was constructed in 1903, funded partially by local faithful. The parish was elevated to independent status in October 1945. The church features distinctive carved stone symbols of an eagle and pelican, representing St. Arulappar’s insignia. The church serves 330 families with 7 attached branch villages: Kizhakkalangal, Melakalangal, Periyasamiapuram, Rukumaniammal Puram, Karuvantha, Veeranam, and Solaiseri. The feast is celebrated in January (first Friday of Thai month) over ten days.
