Brief History:

The parish began with six Catholic families in the Gandhinagar area. Under the leadership of Fr. Sachaya John and Mr. A. John Jaykumar, the first meeting was held in February 2005. When Nellai Town parish became independent in June 2005, Gandhinagar became its branch. The first liturgy was celebrated July 3, 2005, in a school building. Land acquisition occurred in September 2011 with ten cents purchased and five cents donated by Mr. Kasirajan. The foundation stone was laid September 29, 2012. Following substantial community contributions, construction concluded May 2015 when the bishop formally dedicated the completed structure. The church serves 19 families and the feast is celebrated on May 6 over three days.
