Brief History:

Around 1880, a cholera epidemic devastated this tamarind-filled region, prompting other communities to relocate. However, Christian residents remained and were protected through the intercession of Saint Arokyanathar. A palm-leaf structure was established around 1910, followed by a lime-and-tile building in 1937. The current church was constructed and consecrated on August 21, 2001, with a community hall added in 2017. The parish serves 50 families and is located on the Valliyur-Thiruschendur road.
