Brief History:

The congregation began when Mr. Thangadurai, a local teacher, embraced Catholicism and constructed the first tiled-roof chapel covering about 100 square feet. In 1986, eight families comprising 36 members received baptism, marking the beginning of the parish community. The church was expanded in 1998, and the feast day was later moved to May 3 through the efforts of the faithful and clergy. A new permanent church with an asbestos roof was completed in 2003, along with a 30-foot iron flagpole, compound walls, and a bore well. Today, the church serves 24 Catholic families as a branch of Holy Rosary Mother Church, North Meenavankulam and is dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel.
