Brief History:
St. Xavier Church serves as a branch chapel affiliated with the Holy Apostle Theophilus Shrine, Thiruvaikuntam, providing spiritual care to a small Catholic community of 3 families in the rural Athalikulum region of the Tuticorin Diocese. The church is situated on the Tirunelveli–Tiruchendur Road in the Thiruvaikuntam area. It is dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, one of the greatest Christian missionaries in India. Mass is celebrated in the evening twice each month, and the feast of St. Xavier is observed over three days, concluding on December 3.
