History

St. Arulanandar alias John de Brito, who was the head of the Madurai Mission, built the Pure Heavenly Mother Temple in 1666 AD with Kamanayakkanpatti as the best place for his secret work. People from the surrounding area used to go to Kamanayakanpatti to participate in the worship. In 1890 AD, the thatched St. Anthony’s temple was built at Sewalpatti by the villagers. Later in 1926 the car was converted into a temple. The temple hall was built in 1991.
Blessing M. During the tenure of Arul Ambrose, the present new temple was built in 2008 with his efforts and the cooperation of the people. 2011 year of blessing. S. A. Anthonyswamy’s efforts led to the construction of a beautiful gopuram for the temple.
