Feast Day
Festival: It is held for 13 days at the end of January.
The way people participate with their families during the festivals is the pious effort of traveling at dawn with people carrying sabbaras on their shoulders.
The biblical festival is well celebrated.
Tirukasthi festival events are going well.
History
History of Thappillaiyur Temple:
Rooted in the Christian faith from the 19th century to the present day, the people of God’s village of Choppillayur as a witness to Jesus worshiped the miraculous image of St. Anthony on a crucifix covered with palm leaves. It was built in 1900 as a huge Karai temple.
Since 1929, Mary’s Congregational Sisters’ Home was started and evangelization was going on. Currently working in a share management school and looking after the hostel.
In 1944, Teppillaiyur was separated from the Tenkasi division and became a separate division. Later on, Kadayama was split off from Teppillaiyur.
