Brief History:

Saint Amal Mother Church, Amallapuram, traces its origins to about 90 years ago when Dr. Yesuddas initiated prayer life activities in the community, bringing approximately 50 families into the Church under guidance from Trivandrum parish priests. The community donated and purchased land, constructing the first palm-leaf thatched chapel. The foundation stone was laid on October 15, 1986 by Bishop Arokiam Samy and the church was consecrated on February 22, 1993 by Bishop Leon Amalthurais. When Maruthangoodu became an independent parish in 1997, Amallapuram became its mission station serving approximately 170 families.
