Brief History:

A man named Muthu Perumal from a farming family developed a neck tumor and experienced severe suffering. After hearing about St. Anthony’s miracles, he prayed devotedly and was healed. Moved by this grace, he converted to Catholicism and donated 22 cents of his land to establish this chapel. The foundation stone was laid in 1989 and the church was consecrated in 1991. Located between Veppalodai and Vembur road, the chapel serves as a branch of St. Therese of Lisieux Church, Shippiculam, and serves pilgrims traveling to Velankanni Shrine.
