Brief History:

Initially, a palm-leaf hut chapel was established in Srirengarajapuram under Nanguneri Parish. In 1973, the Tuticorin Diocese Golden Jubilee publication noted 70 Catholics residing here. The current church structure was constructed and consecrated by Bishop Ambrose on February 4, 1975. A shrine dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel was later built where the original hut chapel stood. The church serves 20 families as a branch of Christ The King Church, Nanguneri, with the feast celebrated on the first Friday of the Tamil month of Purattasi (September).
