Brief History:

Approximately 200 years ago, a thatched chapel existed in Maravapatti under Maramapadi parish. The structure evolved into a brick and lime church dedicated to Our Lady of Refuge, where devotees venerated saints including Theresa, Sebastian, and Anthony. The parish achieved independent status on June 13, 1988. A new church was consecrated October 12, 2008, featuring a 53-foot flagpole installed later. The Risen Lord chapel (January 5, 2024) contains first-class relics and attracts numerous pilgrims from across Tamil Nadu. The church serves 350 families including branch parishes and contains reliquaries of 12 apostles and 29 saints. The feast is celebrated in February (first week) and July (last Thursday, Friday, Saturday).
