Brief History:

The shrine emerged from a remarkable apparition. On September 1, 2013, during severe weather with lightning and power outages, residents reportedly witnessed the Virgin Mary’s luminous form descending from the 73-foot tower, appearing as a white flame in the lightning during evening hours. Seven local witnesses documented this sighting, which gained media attention and official administrative verification. The miraculous aspect centered on the statue’s descent from 33-foot height without damage. The shrine developed into a holy site drawing devotees across caste, religion, and community lines seeking physical and spiritual healing. The feast is celebrated January 26-February 4 (St. Arulanandar) and August 23-September 1 (Miraculous Lightning Mother Vision).
