History
Krist Raja Church was originally a sub-station of Kathibari Parish. Later, Rev. Fr. Jacob Kollamparampil began developing the mission in 1982 by establishing the parish, building a school, and constructing the church. The church was blessed on 20 November 1983 and soon became an important center of Catholic life in the area.
Although Rev. Fr. Jacob Kollamparampil passed away in 1984, his dedication and missionary work laid a strong foundation for the parish. Afterwards, several parish priests continued to strengthen the church through pastoral care, education, and community service. Moreover, their efforts helped the parish grow steadily over the years.
Today, Krist Raja Church serves around 1,500 Catholics from approximately 300 families across 30 villages. In addition, the parish celebrates Holy Mass, administers the sacraments, conducts catechism classes, and organizes youth and charitable programs throughout the year. Therefore, the church continues to be a vibrant center of Catholic worship, faith formation, and community service in Godda district.
