Brief History:

Christ the King Church, Mulavilay, serves a community with roots going back approximately 100 years when twelve Catholic families whose livelihoods depended on palm trees established themselves in the region. A primary school was established on donated land in 1923 and the first liturgy was celebrated that same year, initially under Saint Philomena before transitioning to Christ the King as patron. Following formal ecclesiastical establishment in 1943, the consecrated church building was completed and dedicated in 1959. Today the parish serves approximately 650 families with 16 affiliated organisations.
