Brief History:

Church of Saint Susai, Mathur, developed from a small shrine dedicated to Saint Anthony established in 1930 on land donated by Vyagapan. After remaining neglected for some time, the property was transferred to the Kottayam Diocese. In 1962, Fr. Bellarmino Geo established a church under the patronage of Saint Joseph, formally consecrated by Bishop Anjisamy. The congregation grew steadily and the parish was elevated to independent status in 2009, with a rectory constructed in 2011 and a community hall in 2012. The parish now serves approximately 180 families across 5 associations.
