Brief History:
A granite church dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Mary was constructed and consecrated in 1947 in the natural surroundings of Maniyarangkunru hill, serving Catholic communities in Maniyarangkunru and Amsi areas. The church evolved from an earlier 1896 chapel and became an independent parish as a distinct parish since 1958 under its first administrator, Fr. Vincent. The parish serves 275 families and includes associated institutions such as a primary school established in 1978 and an IHM Hospital operated by Franciscan Sisters.
