Brief History:

This church holds the distinction of being India’s second and Tamil Nadu’s first church dedicated to Holy Mother Teresa. Established as a parish on September 5, 2005, the church was consecrated on May 3, 2009. The village has maintained Easter celebrations annually since its Christian establishment in 1948. The church features 13 dedicated chapels and shrines to various saints including St. Theresa, Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Xavier, St. Susai, St. Sebastian, and St. Thomas. The parish serves 300 families with a branch parish – Holy Queen Mary Church, Vettilaiyur Ani. The feast is celebrated from August 26 to September 5, commemorating Mother Theresa’s birth and death.
