Brief History:

The community began around 1960 as part of Sathur Parish in this fireworks-manufacturing area. Initially worshipping in temporary shelters, the parish acquired land and began construction under Rev. Fr. Sandhyaku’s guidance in 1967. The church was completed and dedicated in 1970 with approximately 20 families. The St. Padua Anthony feast was first celebrated in 1997. When Othaiyaal became independent in 1999, Anpin Nagar became its branch parish. A new church with twin towers was blessed on May 23, 2023, by Archbishop Dr. Anthony Pappusamy. The church serves 125 families with associated shrines dedicated to Virgin Mary, St. John the Baptist, St. Gabriel, St. Anthony, St. John Bosco, and St. Matthew. The feast is celebrated on the first Saturday and Sunday of May.
