Brief History:

The parish was established on January 7, 1956, and officially recognized on August 6, 1959. The initial settlement occurred in the 1930s when Catholic workers from the Harvey Mill established the community. The church features a 22-foot statue of St. Vallenaar mounted on a tower, visible from the main road. The parish operates educational institutions and maintains fifteen or more active organizations supporting community welfare and marriage assistance programs. It serves 1,100 families with 40 religious communities, with the feast celebrated on May 1 annually, running from late April through May 1 with a procession featuring the saint’s statue. The church includes a branch chapel – St. Anthony’s Church, Karimidu.
