Brief History:

Holy Mother of Grace Malankara Catholic Church at Kuzhithurai is a branch parish under St. Zacharia Church, Susaipur, in the Marthandam Deanery. The parish originated in 1958 when Rev. Fr. Joseph Kuzhinyalil acquired land. An incomplete structure was renovated and completed in 1968, with two large rooms converted into a single worship space with an altar. Rev. Fr. Thomas Vilaye served as the first priest, conducting Saturday evening Mass. The parish received government approval for a new church building in 2007 after a three-year process begun in 2004. Bishop Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom consecrated the beautiful new structure on February 28, 2010. The church is located on the Nagercoil-Thiruvananthapuram highway at Kuzhithurai bus stop. The parish serves 40 families and 3 religious communities. The feast is celebrated during the last week of May.
