Brief History:

St. Thomas Malankara Catholic Church at Themanoor was established on May 5, 1957, when Fr. Joseph Kuzhiyalil and Sister Antonia conducted the first Mass in a private residence. The church building was constructed and consecrated on December 21, 1958, by Bishop Benedict Mar Gregorios. The first baptisms were conducted on the founding date, and the parish recorded 625 baptisms through 1966. Over the following decades the church expanded its facilities including a well, school, weaving center, and an improved sanctuary. The parish currently serves 280 families with 10 religious vocations. The feast of St. Thomas the Apostle is celebrated on July 3rd. The church is located via Marthandam – Unnamalaikadai – Aratoor road.
