Brief History:

Saint Mary Magdalene Church in Kodur village functions under Holy Paul Church, Ilanagar. During Rev. Fr. I. Selvarathinam’s tenure (1968-1969) as parish priest, plans were initiated to construct this chapel, which was subsequently built and consecrated. The congregation experienced significant development under current parish priest Rev. Fr. Selvam Francis Xavier. Through his efforts, the entire sanctuary, altar, and surrounding grounds underwent renovation and were rededicated on August 24, 2019, by former Salem Diocese Bishop Dr. C. Singarayyan. The church serves 12 families as a branch of Holy Paul Church, Ilanagar, and celebrates its feast on July 22 in honour of Saint Mary Magdalene. Located 10 km from Ilanagar.
