Brief History:

This ancient shrine sits on the Sarabanga riverbank in Omalur Taluk, surrounded by natural beauty. It served as a small chapel for many years until 2008. Under the initiative of Parish Priest Rev. Fr. D. A. Francis and with community cooperation, a new permanent structure was constructed during Fr. Ignatius Pitheles’ tenure. Bishop C. Singarayyan of the Salem Diocese officially consecrated and inaugurated it on January 15, 2009. Local farmers traditionally present their harvest offerings at this church first, reflecting its deep cultural importance in the agricultural community. The church serves 145 families and 4 religious communities, with the feast celebrated annually on January 15. Located 1 km from Settipatti on the road to Naranampalayam Puthur.
