Brief History:

The church was established prior to 1660 CE. Initially operating under Pettai Parish, it received electrical connection during Fr. George Joseph’s tenure. The saint’s procession was arranged to circle four main streets. When Tirunelveli Town became an independent parish in 2005, this church became its branch. A new church building was constructed and dedicated in 2010 through Fr. Anthony Xavier’s efforts. The church serves 30 families as a branch of Our Lady of Refuge Church. The feast is celebrated on the Sunday in January containing Saint Sebastian’s feast day.
