Brief History:

St. Anthony of Padua Church at Kalpalaiyathanpatti was constructed in 1896 by Fr. Pattianather. The village ancestors migrated from Sannanallur near Dalmiapuram to Kalpalaiyathanpatti approximately 150 years before the church was built. The community initially worshipped in a thatched structure before constructing the present church. The church was renovated in 2000 and is currently being rebuilt due to deterioration. Four churches exist in the village: St. Anthony’s, St. Sebastian’s, St. Arokiamatha Chapel, and Christian Mary Church, reflecting the strong faith of the community. The feast of St. Anthony of Padua is celebrated on January 16-17 (currently held during the fourth week of February).
