Brief History:

The congregation was established when forty families from the Maravar community embraced Christianity in 1897 under Fr. Gousanel’s guidance. The first chapel was a palm-leaf structure erected in 1895, and the present stone church was constructed in 1898. The community later dispersed for employment opportunities in railways and other towns, though members return regularly for worship and celebrations. The parish is a branch of St. Michael Archangel Church, Kompadi, and has produced two priests from the local community. The feast is celebrated on the last Saturday and Sunday of May and on the feast of St. Anne on August 10.
