Brief History:

Kamaraj Nagar was made a sub-station of Avadi in 1962 by Fr Philip Manathra. Later, Rev Fr Joseph Thyparampil, who was then the Director of Evangelization in Poonamallee built a small Chapel and called it Annunciation Chapel. The present church was built by Fr Joseph Kottur in 1974. In 1982 Archbishop of Madras – Mylapore, Dr R Arulappa erected it as a Parish Church.
