Brief History:

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Tittavila, serves a Christian village community that has practised the faith for centuries, originally worshipping around a central cross. After devastating plague epidemics struck the area, the village was rededicated to St. Michael the Archangel for divine protection. The first Mass was held on June 11, 2002 and the church was elevated to branch parish status on April 4, 2004 under St. Anthony’s Church, Pullani. A permanent church building was subsequently constructed and consecrated at the site of the original cross.
