Brief History:
Approximately 100 years ago, residents from Dindigul district relocated to various areas for their livelihood, and several families settled in Karimeda. They initially worshipped at a St. Anthony statue in Murattupatri. The church was established in 1972 under parish priest Rev. Fr. T.A. Susy. The current structure was rebuilt in 2015 and consecrated on February 17, 2023. The church serves 180 families as a branch of St. Valan Church, Gnaanolipuram, with active organizations including Gospel ministry, Mary’s Army, St. Anthony Youth Group, and religious education classes. The feast of St. Anthony is celebrated in June, with flag hoisting on the first Monday through second Saturday candlelight procession, Sunday flag lowering, and Monday almsgiving.
