Brief History:

St. Anthony’s Church, Kattakkudi, was established in 1950 with a small palm-leaf chapel to serve the Catholic population of Udayar Street, with St. Anthony chosen as patron. Severe weather damaged the structure in 1954, after which services moved nearby. A proper brick church with a tiled roof was constructed in 1988 and consecrated on December 19, 1990. The parish serves approximately 80 families and has observed annual feast celebrations with handcrafted processional chariots since 1980. The feast of St. Anthony is observed on June 13.
