Brief History:
St. Xavier Church, Kotaikkadu, was established in 1898 and holds the distinction of being the first parish in the Pudukkottai Deanery. Initially administered by Jesuit missionaries from the Madurai Mission, the parish has grown to serve approximately 988 Catholic families. The church features bells imported from Germany and oversees a broad network of institutions including primary and secondary schools and an orphanage. The main feast is celebrated from Ash Wednesday through the tenth Saturday of the Easter season.
