Brief History:

Holy Blessed Sacrament Church at Puthanthantam was established as a shared parish in the Manparai Deanery of the Trichy Diocese. Private worship began around 1910, and the church building was constructed over three years and blessed on October 26, 1994. The parish was designated as a shared parish on June 10, 2012. The church serves 68 families and 6 affiliated mission stations including Sacred Heart Mission in Vellaikaavundanpatti and Health of Mothers Mission in Ponnusangampatti. The feast of the Blessed Sacrament is celebrated on July 11, with additional celebrations on September 8 and September 14 at affiliated locations.
